Knowing that we would be adding a third pup at the end of August, we wanted the big dogs to have an extra special summer.
I would be lying if I didn't share that I am a tad worried how this transition would unfold, because let's face it, our two big are pretty special; not to mention spoiled rotten. They go everywhere with us and receive all of our attention.
Though the purchase of our third puppy was sooner than we expected, the reality is that a purebred Labrador comes at a cost. Not only the monetary part but from a time investment perspective as well.
Our amazing CKC registered breeder hasn’t bred since Katie Kate’s litter, and I didn’t think it would be this year. But when we got confirmation that there were little nuggets on the way, I began my full court press.
My travel buddy hubby was reluctant at first, until he realized that other than letting them out for a pee in the morning, everything else falls with me. I am not complaining, merely reinforcing my commitment to raising our new girl.
The one thing hubby and I both agreed upon?
That to the best of our ability, we were going to celebrate a big dog summer.
So far…. Our agreed upon mission is right on track!
